In Toro’s first autonomous mower, Real Time Kinematic (RTK) geo-positioning technology meets GPS based satellite system to bring customers intelligent productivity to make better use of skilled resources. The area to be mowed is mapped out by setting specific boundaries in which the machines can operate autonomously. When the mower reaches the edge of the predefined work zone based on satellite positioning, it intelligently keeps within it and is accurate to two centimetres.

There are no boundary wires required and the system can identify missed areas and reroute to cover them and can sense, stop and work round anything in its way, returning when all-clear. The machine can be started or stopped at anytime from anywhere, and the operator will receive alerts, can create schedules, and automate certain processes.
