Role Profile

At Major R Owen we are seeking enthusiastic recent School or College leavers who are looking to shape the next generation of our industry. The Major R Owen Ltd Apprenticeship enables potential students the freedom that comes with University without the student debt. As a family business known in the industry for quality products and exceptional aftersales, we are proud to partner with Kubota to develop the next generation of engineers. We currently offer 2 distinct Apprenticeships:

Groundcare/Agriculture Apprenticeship

Our program with Kubota leads to a level 3 City & Guilds Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in Land-Based Engineering, equivalent to 3 A Levels. Over the course of 3 years you will gain valuable skills and experience that will provide a solid foundation for your future career.

Summary Responsibilities

• Dedicating learning to ensure you pass each module over the duration of your studies.
• Updating and maintaining a relevant experience log to track your progress.
• Being mentored by one of our professionally trained Kubota Technicians.
• Conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections on new Kubota Machinery.
• Assisting in other workshop related jobs as you progress trough the Apprenticeship.

Pats Apprenticeship

Our program with Kubota leads to a level 3 City & Guilds Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in vehicle parts principles, equivalent to 3 A Levels. Over the course of 2 years you will gain valuable skills and experience that will provide a solid foundation for your future career.

Summary Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service through solving telephone enquiries.
• Loading and unloading stock arriving or leaving the depot.
• Picking and packing stock for the Workshop Team.
• Providing Administrative support for the Parts team.
• Analysing and maintaining stock levels.
• Assisting the parts manager with other related jobs as you progress through the Apprenticeship.

Personal Requirements 

• 5 GSCEs at grade C (4) or above, including English, Maths and at least three other subjects.
• Students with at least a grade D in English and/or Maths may also be considered, depending on grade profiles, practical experience and successful completion of a level 2 test in English and Maths.
